Soundscapes for Games
When working on my gaming course I was required to develop a series of soundscapes fro some primitive games.
These were shown to me with directions for environmental sounds. the sounds were to be on a continuous loop so the gamer could take as long as necessary to complete the level. As the games are no longer active I have used imagery to give a feel for the environments that the games were set in, alongside a short description.
To create a soundscape for a game that takes place deep in the ocean. The characters are in a submersible and in open water in a pressure suit.
Alien Planet Soundscape
To create a soundscape for a game that takes place on an alien planet. Loudspeakers warn the players of leaving a safe zone, where hot mud bubbles from the ground and acid rain falls from the sky.
To create a soundscape for a game that takes place on a steampunk flying pirate ship. The pumping of the engines are heard as the ship creaks and the wind blows the sails of the balloon.
