One of the assignments as part of my QQI Level 5 Product Design course at the Mohill Enterprise Centre is to design a suitable fitting for a light fitting. It can either be on the floor or change from the wall, so I decided i'd make one that could do both or even be a table top light. The cable can be run underneath in a groove to keep it from hanging and it even looks good with a globe bulb cover.
The work was made using Autodesks Fusion 360, a 3D drawing programme. It still takes a little getting used to, but I'm slowly managing to come to terms with steps needed to create work on an exact scale. This is thanks to Ali Farrell who has been teaching us along with Stuart Lawn and Leo Scarff. Our main product design is due in at the end of the month so will be kept busy until then.
