I was fortunate enough to be in Berlin shortly after the fall of The Wall in 1989. I walked under the Brandenburger Tor on 3rd October - Reunification Day. This picture is looking out from Niemandsland (no mans land) into East Berlin. This was a vacant strip between the two sets of walls, which was mined in places and patrolled by the Stasi. It becomes more memorable with each passing year, especially since this space no longer exists and would be difficult to even locate in the modern day reunified city. It is in memory of those brave demonstrators who brought about it's demise. A limited edition print is available from our on-line shop!
